I'm not sure what to write here, but need to make some comments about the recent service to my garage door. First of all, the door did not have a broken spring. It just needed to have the limits reset and adjusted. Mike seemed to be competent, (and mentioned more than once that he has 28 years of experience and I'm paying for his knowledge) but he kept dropping tools and seemed to be having some problems at first. However, he did get the limits adjusted and the door works like it is supposed to. The problem I'm having is that the woman who set up the appointment said that the service call was $59.95 plus parts (no parts were needed). Then when he wrote up the bill, the charge was $59.95 for the service call plus $149.00 to reset the limits. He was there for an hour and 15 minutes. Mike did give me a 10% discount, which I appreciate, but I still think this is excessive. The "service call", according to the invoice, was supposed to include a 25 point inspection of the door and opener with written recommendations. This was not done. I believe the cost of the service call should be credited against the labor especially since the inspection was not performed.
