There were three visits by Precision.
The first time they came out was on my request to replace a broken spring. The tech (JP) was a cordial fellow and explained what would happen and how much it would cost. I considered how much it might cost to actually replace the entire door compared to the repair cost, and he walked me through the options. As it turned out, the replacement was by far a much better deal than simply replacing the broken spring by a 3:1 ratio. So, I ordered a new insulated, interior/ exterior panel overhead door to replace the 23-year-old single panel door.
About 2 weeks later, I received a call from Precision telling me a tech would be out on a Friday to do the installation. That day, the tech showed up and I was quite pleased at how friendly and cordial he was! I had previously cleared most of the floor space so he had room to work, but there were still some constraints, and he worked around them anyway. I asked him to save as much of the exterior trim as possible as I could use it elsewhere. The new exterior trim has a vinyl seal on it to help prevent water and air getting in around the door.
I think the tech worked about four hours by himself dismantling all of the old track and door, and installed the new system. He was efficient and when he was done, had me come and observe the newly installed door.
Wow what a difference! The new door was nearly silent compared to old, single-sided metal door. I now have an insulated, double-sided metal roll-up that is nearly silent!
I'm a retired project manager from Seattle, and have an eye for detail - even the smallest issue I will detect. So, I immediately noticed two dents in one of the interior panels, which looked like perhaps strap marks from being tied down during transit. I pointed them out right away and the tech told me to take a couple of pictures and get in touch with their office. He told me it wouldn’t take much to replace the panel, and since the installation and material were completely warranted, would be no extra cost.
The next Monday I contacted Precision and explained what had occurred, and sent them pictures to confirm. Rebecca was extremely helpful in coordinating the replacement, and within a week, had the new panels to replace the damaged one. Yesterday (Friday) the technician Matt came out with the new panels, helped me move a work bench out of the way, and went to work immediately. Again, a very friendly and cordial individual! He was done with his work within an hour or so. On final inspection, he pointed out that the new vinyl seal was working correctly as it wasn't tight at the base of one side, which he also corrected! Interestingly, I had noticed that detail but failed to mention it to the office and also to Matt when he arrived, so double kudos to them for going the extra mile for me!
I am an extremely happy and satisfied customer! And will be recommending Precision to everyone and anyone that is in the market for a new door!
The customer service is par excellence, workmanship of installation professional, and materials top-line!
Thank you, Precision!
